“It is just frustrating that Herman Cain is going around bad-mouthing the two complainants, and my client is blocked by a confidentiality agreement,” Bennett said. “The National Restaurant Association ought to release them and allow them to respond.”The Cain camp is also claiming hurt feelings. Fearing the message of Herman Cain who is shaking up the political landscape in Washington, Inside the Beltway media have begun to launch unsubstantiated personal attacks on Cain.
Dredging up thinly sourced allegations stemming from Mr. Cain's tenure as the Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, political trade press are now casting aspersions on his character and spreading rumors that never stood up to the facts.
Since Washington establishment critics haven't had much luck in attacking Mr. Cain's ideas to fix a bad economy and create jobs, they are trying to attack him in any way they can.
Sadly, we've seen this movie played out before - a prominent Conservative targeted by liberals simply because they disagree with his politics.
Mr. Cain -- and all Americans, deserve better.

Whether Cain sexually assaulted those women or did anything else to anybody else, I don't think it really matters because he's not going to be sworn it as president. I was watching GPB news hour on Saturday, which by they way is wonderfully uninterrupted by commercials and stupid one-sided opinions like Bill said, (cough, cough, Fox), and I take my stance from them. No matter what Cain's race or past is like, he is doing a poor job at explaining specifically how he will help this country, politically.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the accusations are insignificant, but I do think they make matters worse for Cain's rather weak political campaign. Like you said, he lacks on specific details, and I find it scary that he can't provide an answer when asked for his personal opinion on Obama's handling of Libya. With all that "stuff twirling around in [his] head," I too doubt that he'll make it to the Oval Office.
